Mr. Lee Young
Lee’s interest in antiques started at a young age travelling around auction rooms with his antique dealer father looking for pieces suitable to sell in the family shop. Many summers and holidays were spent working behind the shop counter absorbing knowledge from the many visiting experts. His first job after leaving school was at the local auction house where he fell in love with auctioneering and has followed this passion ever since.
Lee is now Managing Director and Head of Asian Art at Duke’s auctioneers. He has over 25 years experience in the auction business, learning the skills of the trade first at Phillip's auctioneers, then later Sotheby's. In 2002 he joined Freeman's in Philadelphia as a Vice President before starting his current role in 2007. Lee works closely with leading museums and collections of Asian art, recently lecturing at The Burrell Collection and with the National Museums of Scotland.
Lee’s dream find would be a Renaissance bronze by Giovanni Bologna – known as Giambologna.
